CROWS NEST SHOW

Saturday 9th May 2020

Gatekeepers - 3 hour shifts from 6am- 6pm

Skills-

  •  Basic money handling

  • Trustworthiness

  • Local clubs are encouraged to volunteer in respective uniforms for great exposure!

Canteen Helpers - 6am- 8pm

 

Skills

  • Food preparation skills or experience

  • Basic Money handling

  • Ability to work with others

CROWS NEST COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL VOLUNTEERS WANTED

15 – 21 June 2020

POSITIONS VACANT

GROUNDSPERSON

Do you take pride in your community? Are you looking to volunteer and stay active? The Showground Groundsperson position may be for you.

 

The 16 acre showgrounds are owned entirely by the Crows Nest Agricultural Society and the grounds require routine mowing, whipper snipping and someone with an attention to detail for repairs required, etc. With caravan clubs, community events and our annual Crows Nest Show in May, we wish to keep the grass short and the edges tidy!

 

Are you the right fit?

  • Must be competent on a zero turn mower & whipper snipper

  • Ability to perform simple routine services on zero turn mower & whipper snipper

  • Attention to detail, motivated and able to work independently

  • This is a volunteer position.

  • Ability to obtain a Blue Card (reimbursed by CNAH&I)

  • In a good season, this position can require 16 hours per week. Alternatively in dry times, no mowing may be required for months.

CHIEF STEWARD- HORSE SECTION

The vacancy of Horse Chief Steward is currently available after decades of commitment from retiring Mrs Joyce Brazier. The Crows Nest Show is held on the 2nd Saturday of May and traditionally has a full day of Horse Ring events.

 

Position Requirements- 

  • Ability to obtain a Blue Card

  • An extensive knowledge and passion of Horse competitions

  • Oversee and manage the running the Crows Nest Show Horse section events

  • Preparation of the Horse Section’s schedule

  • Approach Sponsors and return paperwork to the Secretary in a timely manner

  • Good people skills and ability to provide leadership and direction to Stewards and competitors.

  • We are open to new ideas to keep this section invigorating. Can be a shared position.

 

Chief Stewards are crucial to the success of the Crows Nest Show and we are seeking an individual to take ownership and pride of the Horse section. There are a number of continuing horse stewards to support you in your role.

MISS SHOWGIRL CO-ORDINATOR

Entering it’s 58th year, the local Miss Crows Nest Showgirl competition promotes female leadership and gives young women a platform to be an advocate for rural communities and the Show Movement.

We are seeking a Miss Showgirl Co-Ordinator to recruit entrants, accept nominations, provide guidance for the entrants and join the Show Ball entertainment committee.

Position Requirements-

  • Ability to obtain a Blue Card

  • Oversee the running of the Miss Showgirl & Miss Charity Showgirl competition

  • Preparation of the Miss Showgirl Section’s schedule

  • Approach Sponsors and return paperwork to the Secretary in a timely manner

  • Good people skills and ability to provide direction to entrants and their parents.

  • Play an active role in the Show Ball Entertainment Committee and oversee the running of the Show Ball which includes judging of the entrants with interview and public speaking components.

  • We are open to new ideas to keep this section modern and appealing.

The Miss Showgirl Co-Ordinator has a fabulous opportunity to nurture young female leaders in the Crows Nest community. We have a proud Showgirl history and we look forward to celebrating 60 years in 2022!
