Opportunity

Crows Nest Showgirl has the opportunity to progress to the Darling Downs and Queensland finals with the opportunity to travel interstate and overseas.

Crows Nest’s own, Samantha Gluer was crowned QLD Country Life Showgirl in 2011, an extremely proud moment for all involved.

Charity

The Charity component is optional for the Showgirl entrants to participate in. Holding important social, sporting and cultural events for Crows Nest and surrounds, the Showgirls raise much-needed funds for the Show Society while increasing their confidence and public profile.

Competition

The Showgirl Competition is not a Beauty Pageant or Fashions in the Field race wear competition.

Most importantly the Showgirls must have a genuine interest in, and knowledge of, rural Queensland.

The Competition encourages the participation and subsequent awareness of the rural women’s contribution and involvement in both local communities and rural Queensland as a whole.

History

Crows Nest has a proud and rich Showgirl tradition, beginning in 1962, we celebrated 60 years in 2022.

The 60th anniversary of the Crows Nest Show Ball in 2022 saw the return of 22 of the past showgirls. It was a huge success and we look forward to celebrating anniversaries in the future again.
