The Grower Books

The Grower Books are a once in a lifetime photographic collection of every aspect of Australian Agriculture captured by photographer and author Alice Mabin after a year on the road and over 500 farms visited. Over 2000 sets of ‘The Grower’ books were donated by prominent Western Australian pastoralist- John Nicoletti to schools across Australia with others simply asked to cover the postage to see their school of choice receive a set.

The Crows Nest Show Society made sure our local schools, Crows Nest State School, Geham State School, Highfields State School, Highfields State Secondary College and Mary Mackillop Catholic College each received these inspiring books.

2019 Miss Crows Nest Showgirl Bethany Campbell was fortunate to join local business women Melissa Taylor to meet Alice and help her present Highfields State Secondary College with their set.

Crows Nest State School

Dear Mr Nicoletti and Ms Mabin,

On behalf of Crow's Nest State School, we would like to express our deepest gratitude for your generous gift of the twobooks, "The Grower: The Heartland Of Australia" and "The Grower: The Roots Of Australia". As a country school, we all understand and relate to the stunning photos Ms Mabin has captured and Mr Nicoletti, they do inspire our future generations to seek a future on the land.

They bring back many heart-warming memories in this season of drought. You have truly made the Staff and Students at Crow's Nest State School appreciate the spectacular Australian scenery.

We would like to thank the Crow's Nest Show Society for the postage donation.

With Great Appreciation and Many Thanks, Crow's Nest State School.
